William Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway are buried here. This ancient church provides a moment of calm away from the bustle of the town. Both the courtyard and the churchyard itself are breathtakingly beautiful. In the little shop you can even buy a copy of the Magna Carta on a roll in a tube in both authentic Latin text and a handy English translation for £3.50.

Access Guide
A ramp is offered on request to wheelchair users who wish to enter the church. Otherwise, access is via one step leading downward into the building. A very low door must be negotiated with caution on entrance. Staff can provide a spare wheelchair and “Orders of Service” in large print and Braille on request. An induction loop system has been installed.
Superb fully accessible toilet facilities are situated by the Brass Rubbing Centre, in the Theatre Gardens. At weekends and bank holidays, parking is available in Church Street car park, and during the week, at Bridgefoot.
