Stanton Cross, Cotswold Village, watercolour by John Davis©
Chipping Campdenis the the the first major town, an old woollen market town, where woollen merchants traded for hundreds of years. As you will see should you choose to visit Chipping Campden, the town, unaffected by the industrial revolution, enables you to enjoy old England as it was since the 1700's. The Cotswolds are famous for the honey-blond stone buildings. The whole town of Chipping Campden is built of it, and is a typical example of the entire district.
